It was a night of glitz and glamour yesterday during the 43rd Annual Botswana Sports Awards. The awards are a celebration of excellence, dedication, and pride in the field of sports.

Speaking during the ceremony His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Botswana Dr Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi highlighted that the celebration was not only to honour the achievements of sport people but also to reflect on the remarkable strides that Botswana has made in a variety of areas, including sport.

His Excellency highlighted that in recent years, Batswana have made remarkable achievements in track and field events that have solidified Botswana’s place in the archives of sports history. He further stated that athletes have not only competed but have excelled, standing proudly on the podium as champions and ambassadors of Botswana. His Excellency, Dr Masisi stated that their dedication, hard work, and determination serve as a shining example of inspiration to many, reminding Batswana that with determination and fortitude, anything is possible.

His Excellency wished #TEAMBOTSWANA the best of luck at the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games and encouraged them to bring home the much anticipated Gold medals.
