The Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) has issued a stern warning to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), threatening to block over 2,000 polling stations if irregularities from last weekendโs elections are not addressed promptly.
The UDC alleges that the Saturday elections were riddled with issues, including a shortage of ballot papers, polling stations opening late, and the failure to use indelible ink to prevent double voting.
According to Michael Keakopa, UDCโs Head of Madibelatlhopho, if the IEC does not take immediate action to rectify these problems, the party will not allow any polling stations to open on the 30th of this month.
The UDC is demanding swift intervention to ensure fairness in the election process, or they will take drastic measures to prevent voting.
