His Honour the Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane has urged the youth of Boteti West to make use of opportunities in their area. Vice President Tsogwane said the area has great opportunities yet the youth do not realise this.
Addressing a kgotla meeting in Motopi, Vice President Tsogwane called on the youth to form associations and explore the opportunities in their area.
Residents of Makalamabedi and Motopi had complained that they are not allowed to slaugther cattle since they do not have proper inspection facilities. The residents are complaining that the only place to take their cattle for slaughter is Rakops which is expensive due to the distance.
Vice President Tsogwane said such challenges are an opportunity. He said youth in the area should grouo themselves and use this as an opportunity to construct a slaugther slab in the area.
He added that the will not only facilitate the slaughter of cattle for surrounding villages, but will aslo help improve livelihoods.
Vice President Tsogwane further said his office is committed to capacitating the youth to help them improve their lives. He added they frequently advice the youth to make use of programmes intended to uplift them.
He further said in the past year his office held capacity building workshops for Boteti West youth. This is reported to have led to the increase in the number of youth who applied for the Youth Development Fund (YDF)
