Botswana Housing Corporation will embark on the Youth Housing Scheme- a housing campaign targeting youth who wish to purchase houses.
President Ian Khama said in his State of the Nation Address in August that the government will put in place a new Installment Purchase Scheme to be implemented by the Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC) to make rental and purchasing houses cheaper. He said the government will provide high density and multi-residential houses for the youth and bachelor flats for first time home-owners and employees.
BHC Marketing Manager Mookodi Seisa confirmed that government will subsidize the houses to enable youth and low income earners to own property at affordable prices. Seisa said young people will buy the houses through an installment purchase scheme, from next year.
