WORKSHOP MANAGER – GEAR MINING CONSTRUCTION
Job description
The successful candidate will be required to oversee the day to day running of the Workshop in line with production, quality and safety standards
Minimum Requirements
Diploma in Mechanical or Structural Engineering plus 8 years mining construction experience, or
MQA Red Seal certificate or NCC – Boilermaking/Plater Welder or Fitting & Turning
At least 10 years workshop experience at Supervisor level (Foreman) plus 7 years mining construction experience
Have an understanding of Auto-cad and other design programmes
Experienced in engineering design drawing interpretation, steel fabrication and field installation
Must hold a previous mine/legal appointment per Mines, Quarries and Machinery Act
Good understanding of ISO 9000, ISO 14000and OSHAS 18000
Understanding of ISO 45000 will be an added advantage
Ability to develop Disaster Action Plans or Disaster Recovery Plans
Good understanding of HIRA system and ability to implement an effective HSE Management system
Technical Competencies
Excellent SHEQ knowledge and commitment
Thorough understanding of the MQWM Act, Botswana
Development of effective work strategies
Ability to develop Emergency Action Plans and associated Disaster Recovery Plans
