USA Celebrates Independence Day with Bostwana

23rd August 2022 : The Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Gladys Mokhawa represented the Government and people of Botswana at the occasion of 246th Anniversary of Independence of the United States of America, hosted by Ms Amanda Jacobsen, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the United States of America;

In her remarks, Ambassador Mokhawa noted that Botswana and the United States relationship has developed and diversified over the years and the two countries enjoy excellent relations anchored on shared values, mutual respect, collaboration and partnership. She expressed Botswana`s profound gratitude to the Government and the people of United States for their Selfless support, for their generosity of spirit and their strong belief in the future of Botswana. She re-affirmed the Government’s commitment to continue strengthening relations between two countries for mutual benefit.

For her part, Ms Amanda Jacobsen, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the United States of America, noted that the United States and Botswana enjoy a long standing friendship; shared values, democracy, human rights, and good governance. She also applauded Botswana`s commitment to fighting against HIV/AIDS and COVID-19 pandemics. She assured that the her country is committed to expand and strengthen cooperation between the countries.
