Update on exchange of fire incident
Following the exchange of fire that ensued between the Police and armed robbers near Botswana
College of Engineering and Technology (BCET) in Gaborone on 6* June 20
borane on 6* June 2022, the Police have
since identified one of the two deceased men as 24-year-old Zimbabwean Chizen Male Jahelihle
Justice Moyo.
The deceased persons had pending cases, including robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, entering
Botswana through an ungazetted point of entry and theft common. One of the suspects, a 31-
year-old Motswana who got injured in the process, is still hospitalised.
Meanwhile, three suspects arrested at the material time were arraigned before Extension II
Magistrate Court on 08/06/2022 for robbery. The trio are; Zimbabwean Citizen Males Alfred
Morris Moyo, aged 36, Ephaselow Tanda (45) and
and a Motswana Citizen Male Lebogang Bose
33), of Extension 14 in Gaborone. They have been remanded in prison and wil appear again on
14/06/2022 in the same court.
At the time of the commission of the offence, Zimbabwean Ephaselow Tanda was on bail for a
robbery committed in January 2021, while Lebogang Bose had a pending case of Threats to kill
that occurred in January this year.
