UB 2017 Applications For Undergraduate Admission Now Open
Applications are open for all those who seek admission into undergraduate study programs at University of Botswana for August 2017 entry. They will be received from 6th March 2017 to the 7th April 2017. Former students who previously withdrew or discontinued or have been away from the University for at least one semester but not more than 10 semesters may also apply. Applications will also be open to those who wish to transfer from their current institutions to UB.
On-line Application:
University of Botswana has an on-line application system whereby prospective applicants can apply on-line wherever they are. All prospective applicants are therefore expected to make their applications online through the ‘’STUDY AT UB” link on the University of Botswana website: www.ub.bw as soon as the application receiving period opens.
Prospective applicants may use any Internet facility available to them to apply.
A guide in the form of a booklet, entitled “ONLINE APPLICATION: A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE”, on how to complete an application online is provided through the “STUDY AT UB” link. A Hard copy of the booklet is also available at Undergraduate Admissions Office at Main Campus in Gaborone, Centre of Continuing Education (CCE) in Francistown and Okavango Research Institute (ORI) in Maun.
Application Materials:
All Application materials are available as Application Package and can be accessed through the “STUDY AT UB” link on the University of Botswana Website: www.ub.bw. The same application materials in the form of a booklet entitled, “A Guide to Prospective Applicants: 2017 Undergraduate Admissions” may also be obtained from Undergraduate Admissions Office at the Main Campus in Gaborone; Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) in Francistown; Okavango Research Institute (ORI) in Maun; Kasane Education Centre and public Senior Secondary Schools.
Applicants with Disability:
University of Botswana welcomes applicants with disability, and considers their applications on academic merit like all other applications. All applicants are expected to state whether APPLICATION FOR UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION IN AUGUST 2017
they have any disability or not when they apply so that the university’s Disability Support Services Unit can contact them to understand the nature of their disability. Prospective applicants with any disability may contact the university’s Disability Support Services Unit at the following telephone numbers: (+267)-3554540/2768. The declaration of such information helps the University in assessing the learning needs of all applicants. The University will; at all times preserve the confidentiality of student information.
Submission of Applications:
Applicants are expected to submit their applications mainly online. Such applications will be received by Undergraduate Admissions Office at Main Campus in Gaborone; Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) in Francistown; and Okavango Research Institute (ORI) in Maun. Applicants are advised to go to these Centres for their application advisement. Service will be open from 8:00am to 4:30pm during week days at both UB Francistown (CCE), Okavango Research Institute (ORI) in Maun; and UB Main Campus in Gaborone until the closing date. Applicants are encouraged to pay their Application Fee at the Banks and should write their full names and IDs as reference on the deposit slip. Applicants may use any Internet facility available to them to submit their applications online.
Changes:
Applicants may make changes to their study choices during the application period through a letter to Undergraduate Admissions Office. No changes will be allowed after the closing date.
Admission Processing:
Applicants who meet the set program entry requirements will be admitted based on academic merit depending on the availability of space. Meeting the minimum entry requirements therefore does not guarantee admission.
