U.S. Ambassador Miller Launches The Inaugural YALI Talks
Ambassador Miller recently launched the inaugural “YALI Talks” organized by the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Batswana alumni. In his remarks he highlighted, “Sub-Saharan Africa is experiencing dramatic demographic changes, and half of its population is under the age of 25.
The future success of Africa will depend in many ways on the leadership, skills, and ingenuity of an emerging generation of leaders.” “YALI Talks” are designed to engage young Batswana in topics of national interest and personal development. The two guest speakers, Thapelo Tsheole, CEO of the Botswana Stock Exchange, and YALI alum Setshwano Sharey Ngope of Merlot Wealth, spoke about investment and financial management to an enthusiastic and engaged audience.
The “YALI Talk” initiative aims to help build an active network of young Batswana who take interest in community, national and global developmental issues. Keep up the great work, YALI alumni!
