Realising the acute shortage of tractors in Boteti West region, Tshomarelo Development Foundation Trust challenged itself to come the farmers rescue. This shortage was resulting in farmers not being able to reach their plough desires.
To this end, the Trust procured two tractors to remedy the situation, and ease the farmers fears. This season, the Trust is however operating with only one tractor as the other one is experiencing mechanical challenges.
Tshomarelo Trust has employed two young people, Roy Kesebonye and Nkatogang Nyemudzani, as the tractors operators on temporary basis for the ploughing season. One Nyemudzani, has submitted that the temporary employment helps him buy equipment for his welding business in Mokobaxane which is still at an infant stage.
With the ploughing season nearing the end, the Trust has so far assisted more than 30 farmers in Boteti West.
