The New Secure Land Title To Improve Lives-Tsogwane
His Honour The Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane says Government has delivered on its promise to improve people’s livelihoods by changing land policy and speeding allocation of land.
Speaking during the issuence of Secure Land Title this morning in Rakops, His Honour The Vice President said Government has made changes on the land policy to improve the lives of Batswana and give value to tribal land.
He said the new certificate does not only give land use rights but also gives ownership. He added that the Secure Land Title will give land owners a chance to develop their land and increase their wealth as it provides access to financial assistance just like State and Freehold land.
His Honour appreciated His Excellency The President Dr Mokgweetsi E.K. Masisi for the changes made to the land policy and added that developments made are in line with striving to achieve Vision 2036.
He implored residents of Boteti and Batswana at large to use the Secure Land Title wisely, and reap its benefits to improve their lives.
His Honour made a call to everyone who is left behind in registering land to go and register and have ownership of their land.
The Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands, Water and Sanitation highlighted that, the Secure Land Title has significant security features which will make it difficult for people to fake. He said, Batswana have been cheated in the past as people produced fake certificates and sold land they did not own. He said the security features will curb this problem.
