The Ministry of Education Increase Allowances At Brigades And Technical Colleges
Students at technical colleges should have something to smile about as The ministry of Education and Skills Development plans to increase allowances for learners at brigades and technical colleges, from P300 to P1,400 per month. The increase is part of the intentions to achieve the national aspirations of an informed and educated people.
The Ministry noticed that some students enroll in certain institutions targeting allowances. So they are choosing allowances over courses which can be bad for their future. Brigades and technical colleges also offer high quality programs that can boost the country’s economy but just that their allowances are low they have been failing to attract learners.
Currently all vocational schools and brigades on-campus students are given an allowance of P300 while off campus students are given P600 and are also being fed. Now on-campus students will be given a monthly allowance of P150 per month and provided with food whilst off campus students will be given an allowance of P1,400 to cover their welfare including food.
