The Desert Bush Walk: A Contributor to the Growth of Local Businesses
The 2024 Desert Bush Walk, an annual charity event, has once again demonstrated its significant impact on local communities. His Honour Mr. Slumber Tsogwane, the Chief Walker for this year’s event, emphasized that the walk is far from inconsequential. He highlighted that it positively affects lives and promotes good health, reinforcing the event’s importance beyond its charitable goals.
In his address, His Honour Tsogwane noted that last year’s walk had substantial contributions. A notable portion of the proceeds was donated to the University of Botswana, specifically to support its research unit. This gesture underscores the event’s commitment to fostering academic and research advancements within the community.
The Desert Bush Walk saw the participation of several distinguished figures, including the Minister of Entrepreneurship, Mr. Gare; the Assistant Minister for the State President, Ms. Gofhamodimo; and the Assistant Minister for the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Molebatsi. Their presence not only added prestige to the event but also underscored the collaborative effort in supporting local causes and businesses.
The walk has become a symbol of community spirit and local development, bridging charitable endeavors with the growth of regional enterprises. As it continues to gather support and momentum, the Desert Bush Walk is poised to remain a vital contributor to the welfare and prosperity of local businesses and institutions.
