The Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane has expressed gratitude towards Batswana and the business community who continue contributing to the COVID-19 Relief Fund.
Speaking during a donors’ ceremony held at the Office of the President gardens earlier today, the Vice President said since President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi made the call for help in the fight against COVID19, Batswana and the business community had consistently made an effort to assist.
Vice President Tsogwane today recieved donations from Bank Gaborone (P400 000), BB Motors and Skyways Travel (P250 000), New Era/Ghoderati Foundation (P150 000), Airtime dealers (P300 000), Kenyan Community (P60 000), Lobsec class of ’94 (P31 319.94), Lotsane Class of ’95 (P12 819.95), Jamal Trading (P300 000), F.Ismail Group (P200 000) and F.Ismail Group of Filling Stations (P400 000).
The Vice President also appreciated the alumni classes of Lobsec 94 and Lotsane ’95 for giving back to the country during these challenging times.
The ambassador of Kenya to Botswana, His Excellency Mohamed M. Shidiye, said the contribution from the Kenyan community living in Botswana was an indicator that both countries will continue to stand together against COVID19.
Also present was the minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration Mr Kabo Morwaeng and his assistance minister, Member of Parliament for Gaborone South Mr Dumezweni Mthimkhulu.
