His Honour the Vice President, Mr Slumber Tsogwane today launched Temo Expo, Stanbic Bank Accelerator Programme and establishment of the Botswana National Technology Laboratory for Agriculture (BONATLA).
The initiatives by National Agricultural Research and Development Institute (NARDI) and its strategic partners are intended to support the recently introduced Temo Letlotlo Programme.
When speaking during the launch today, the Vice President stated that NARDI has found it fit to bring together farmers, technology vendors, input suppliers and financial institutions through “Temo Expo” to fine tune production plans. Temo Expo will be held annually.
Botswana National Technology Laboratory for Agriculture (BONATLA), an enterprise by NARDI and African Agriculture Company is intended to revolutionize Botswana’s agricultural sector by advancing mechanisation and promoting sustainable farming practices through research, innovation, and collaboration in equipment development and services.
On the other hand, Stanbic Bank Accelerator Programme’s objective is to facilitate youth’s access to finance in agriculture value chains.
The Vice President said these efforts should lead towards the attainment of SDG 2, which emphasizes on food security and sustainable agriculture and SDG17, which emphasizes on strengthening partnerships for sustainable development.
