Suspect arraigned before court for possession of suspected stolen property

A 33-year-old Zimbabwean Citizen Male, Regret Samanyanga of Block 5,

appeared before the Village Magistrate Court on 02/08/2022
on 02/08/2022 for Possession of
Suspected Stolen Property.
The suspect was arrested on the 31 July 2022 following a Police search in which
various suspected stolen items were found in his possession. The items are; 53
pairs of shoes, 36 cellphones, 30 wrist watches, 30 caps, 16 laptops, 15

eyeshades, three cameras, two projectors, a stove and a generator.
Preliminary Police investigations revealed that some of the suspected stolen items
were linked to cases reported at Central and Borakanelo Police Stations in
Gaborone.

The suspect is remanded in Prison and will appear before the same court on the
16 August 2022,
Meanwhile, Police are appealing to members of the public to come forth and
identify their property at Gaborone West Police Station during working hours (0730-
1630hrs on Monday to Friday) and are expected to bring proof of ownership.
