Save The Girl Child Tournament Underway
Mexican Girls FC from Gaborone West will host a 4 teams tournament under the banner “SAVE THE GIRL CHILD”. According to the tournament organizers, the tournament is mainly aimed at ensuring personal empowerment of the girl child. This is because the girl child is vulnerable in today’s world and protecting them begins with empowering them.
Another objective for this tournament is to help players to maintain fitness in view of the absence of the league activities. The tournament, which is sponsored to a tune of P6, 000.00, will feature the hosts, the 17 times Women League title winners Double Action, the current defending champions Township Rollers and Prisons XI who recently took part in the international tournament involving Botswana, Lesotho and the hosts Swaziland. Each team will be awarded P1, 000.00 for its participation in the tournament. The winners will go home with a trophy and medals while the runner ups will be awarded medals.
