SADC to address unrest in the region
The Acting President Mr Slumber Tsogwane says the 42nd Ordinary SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government has come up with 28 resolutions. One of these resolutions is to address the disturbing issues of unrest in the SADC region.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday during his arrival from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Acting President Tsogwane said the summit has called for dialogue to help address issues of unrest in countries such as Eswatini, Lesotho and DRC.
He said among many other issues, the summit also discussed issues of sustainable development to improve the region’s economic performance.
The Acting President has revealed that the summit has also agreed to honour the first presidents who founded SADC. He said this is to acknowledge the work they have done in forming SADC. These presidents include Botswana’s first President Sir Seretse Khama among others.
