REGRETTABLE ATTACK ON SOCIAL WORKER

The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has received with regret reports about an incident in which a male Social Worker was attacked by another man in Lesoma village.

The social worker was assessing the family for possible relief assistance in the form of food baskets.

Once again, the Government wishes to advise members of the public that it has deployed Social Workers to assist those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Therefore, it is necessary that members of the public give them necessary support to enable them to do their work diligently without undue intimidation.
