Public Officers Raged To Uphold The Public Service Charter Principles
The Permanent Secretary to the President, Ms Emmah Peloetletse called on the Public Officers to reflect on who they are and the role they play in the delivery of Government services. She also reminded the attendees that they are expected to uphold and live the eight ( principles of the Public Service Charter. Ms Peloetletse said this when addressing public officers from the Central District this morning in Serowe.
Public officers were encouraged to ensure that among the 8 principles of the charter, the duty to be informed principle should always be adhered to and that officers should make strides and effort to inform themselves as they are custodians of Government policies and assets.
Officers have to know and familiarize themselves with policies of all sectors of the public service, interpret, simplify and cascade them to the public.
Ms. Peloetletse highlighted that public officers are an operational arm of the Government and are in position to share feedback received from the public with their principals on whether the policies put in place serve the intended purpose or need to be reviewed.
