PSP Calls on Accounting Officers To Prioritise Batswana

The Permanent Secretary to the President, Ms. Emma Peloetletse has called on the Permanent Secretaries across Government Ministries to always think about the ordinary Batswana and prioritise how to better their lives in their daily implementation of Government Policies. Ms Peloetletse said this during the Performance Management Forum meeting held at Morning Side Farms this morning.

The Performance Management Forum is a monthly meeting for Permanent Secretaries to discuss and reflect on strategic issues surrounding the implementation of Government policies, initiatives, services and directives. This morning’s session was held at the Morning Side Farms as one of Government’s deliberate initiatives to empower the ordinary Batswana who are in business.

Ms. Peloetletse seized the opportunity to encourage and commend Accounting Officers on their stellar performances at their respective Ministries. She further used the platform to give the Accounting Officers feedback from the Leadership which she highlighted as the quality and timeliness of their submissions of recommendations to Cabinet, alignment of all initiatives to the Government Reset Agenda, collective responsibility of Ministries, nurturing of the relationship between Accounting Officers and Cabinet, alignment of new laws to Government’s Legislative Agenda and according equall opportunities to Batswana to serve on Board Membership of State owned Enterprises to name but a few.

Ms. Peloetletse also reminded the Accounting Officers to always engage with all stakeholders especially the private sector when formulating and implementing Government Policies, citing an example of the implementation of the “Private Sector Led Economy” initiative. The Morning Side Farms is a local farm owned by the Lekuni couple, located along the Boatle-Mankgodi road. The farm started its operations in 2018 and hosts a number of activities such as meetings, private parties, weddings and team building events.
