President Masisi to Undertake a Working Visit to Namibia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to announce to the public that His Excellency the President, Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi will embark on a Working Visit to Namibia from the 2nd to the 5th of July 2024. This visit comes at the invitation of His Excellency Dr. Nangolo Mbumba, President of the Republic of Namibia.

While in Namibia, President Masisi will serve as the Guest of Honour and deliver the Keynote Address at the Swakopmund International Trade Expo (SWAITEX) on the 3rd of July 2024. Subsequently, His Excellency the President will hold Official Talks with his counterpart on the 4th of July 2024. The discussions will encompass bilateral, regional, and global matters of mutual interest, including a review of progress in existing areas of cooperation, such as agriculture, transport, telecommunications, defence, and security. The two Presidents will also explore potential opportunities to further enhance and deepen collaboration between Botswana and Namibia.

His Excellency the President will be accompanied by Her Excellency Mrs. Neo Jane Masisi, the First Lady of the Republic of Botswana; His Honour Mr. Slumber Tsogwane, the Vice President of the Republic of Botswana; and a delegation comprised of Honourable Ministers from Foreign Affairs; Defence and Security; Finance; Transport and Public Works; Agriculture; Labour and Home Affairs; Education and Skills Development; Minerals and Energy; Trade and Industry; as well as Communications, Knowledge and Technology, and senior Government Officials.
The President and his delegation will return to Gaborone on 5th July 2024.
