President Duma Boko Swears In New Deputy Clerk and Assistant Deputy Clerk of the Cabinet

Gaborone — In a formal ceremony held this morning, President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko presided over the swearing-in of Mr. Zanene Sinombe as Deputy Clerk of the Cabinet and Ms. Keitirele Mathape as Assistant Deputy Clerk of the Cabinet. The appointments mark a significant reinforcement of Botswana’s executive administrative leadership as the new government continues to streamline governance and public service delivery.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Office of the President, was attended by senior government officials, family members of the appointees, and representatives from the public service sector.

President Boko congratulated both Mr. Sinombe and Ms. Mathape on their new roles and expressed confidence in their abilities to support the Cabinet’s operations efficiently. He emphasized the importance of integrity, diligence, and commitment to public service, noting that the two officials were entrusted with key responsibilities at a critical juncture in Botswana’s development agenda.

Mr. Zanene Sinombe, now Deputy Clerk of the Cabinet, brings years of experience in public administration and policy coordination. His new role involves supporting the Clerk of the Cabinet in ensuring that government policies and decisions are effectively documented, communicated, and implemented across ministries.

Ms. Keitirele Mathape, who assumes the role of Assistant Deputy Clerk of the Cabinet, has a strong background in governance and administrative procedures. She will be tasked with assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Cabinet Secretariat and ensuring smooth coordination between the executive arm and other branches of government.

In brief remarks following the ceremony, both Mr. Sinombe and Ms. Mathape pledged their commitment to serve with excellence and uphold the principles of transparency and service to the nation. They expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them and vowed to work closely with all government departments to ensure a well-functioning Cabinet office.

Their appointments are seen as part of President Boko’s broader push to strengthen institutional capacity within the public service and enhance the efficiency of government operations.
