Police officers applauded for their crime prevention efforts

The Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, Mr Solomon Mantswe, commended No.5 Police District operatives for reducing crime in Maun and surrounding areas as well as making breakthroughs in a number of robbery cases.

Addressing police officers in Maun recently, Mr Mantswe appreciated officers for their commitment and dedication towards their work, stating that it is through such efforts that BPS is able to achieve positive results. He noted that through their efforts, robbery cases have drastically gone down in Maun.

On Gender Based Violence (GBV), the Deputy Commissioner encouraged officers to give cases of GBV the seriousness they deserve. He said officers should act promptly and make referrals where necessary to save lives and stop repeated victimisation.

For his part, the Officer Commanding for No.5 Police District Senior Superintendent Onious Madziba expressed gratitude for the address, adding that this interaction will go a long way in motivating the operatives.
