Patient-Care Landscape Improving

His Excellency Dr. Mokgweetsi Masisi says total transformation of Botswana patient care landscape is beginning to appear on the horizon due to capacity building programmes provided by Merck Foundation.

Speaking during the launch of the Merck Foundation Programs in Partnership with First Lady of the Republic of Botswana Her Excellency Mrs Neo Jane Masisi today, His Excellency Dr. Mokgweetsi Masisi said medical personnel have benefitted from 46 scholarships provided by Merck Foundation.

He stated that the study programmes, covers a wide range of disciplines in the medical field, including Endocrinology, Embryology, Fertility and Sexual Reproductive care among others and will transform our health sector and also empower women living with the infertility stigma.

Her Excellency First Lady Neo Jane Masisi stated that “The Merck Foundation More than a Mother”, is a movement that aims to empower infertile and childless women through access to information, education and change of mindset. He urged academia and research institutions to assist by producing data that will assist government and advocacy institutions to launch appropriate interventions that will address infertility and other issues. First Lady Mrs. Masisi was appointed Ambassador of the Foundation in 2018.
