Parachute Association of Botswana’s Garai Makaya Loses His Life Skydiving In SA

On a very sad note,we announce the sudden passing away of Parachute Association of Botswana’s public secretary Garai Makaya. Garai unfortunately lost his life in an accident whilst skydiving at Rustenburg Skydiving Club in South Africa, on the 11th February 2017.

According to reports, The Parachute Association of South Africa has launched an investigation on behalf of the Civil Aviation Authority of South Africa to establish the cause of the accident. Full details of this incident will be advised as soon as further information comes to hand.

Garai was so dedicated to his passion, as well as to this particular sport. He gave this sport his life and selflessly taught many people to scuba dive.Botswana skydiving and skydiving in general has lost such an incredible force in the progression and opportunities. Our condolences go to his family, and all those close to him at this, their time of loss.
