Orange Botswana Launches 5G Technology
His Excellency President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi says 5G technology will serve as yet another catalyst for the progress of Batswana.
Speaking at the launch of the 5G technology in Gaborone, the President said the 5G technology offers a depth of possibilities for the market, enhancing every Motswana’s ability to communicate and connect better.
The President further said Information Telecommunications Technology has the potential to unlock opportunities across a spectrum of sectors, be it the financial services sector, the health care sector and the communications space.
He said ICT, the 4th Industrial revolution, and the age of digital transformation, all work collectively to ensure and provide governments and the private sector, with possibilities of improvement in efficiency, productivity, economic growth and the wellbeing of the society.
His Excellency emphasized that this is why government has worked to establish a number of programs and projects that prioritize digitalization, as this will unlock and enable high productivity among Batswana.
The President said the demand for data and data driven platforms is growing for personal and business needs, and Botswana does not lack the means to invest in these technologies,
Orange Botswana launched the 5G Technology in Gaborone tonight, the first of its kind in the region, a move His Excellency applauded Orange Botswana for, saying it is a company that lives up to its expectations and duties to support the industry, the nation and the people.
