A lot now is at stake as we approach our golden jubilee. This is the time for you to nominate that young person who genuinely made a significant impact towards the development of this country. Mail & Guardian Africa and Gabz-FM, Botswana’s leading private radio station, have collaborated to make this competition happen.
As of today, there are only 7 days left for you to voice your opinion in celebrating Botswana’s 50th independence celebrations. In keeping with Botswana’s democratic spirit, the public will nominate these young individuals. Nominees should be under the age of 40 and should have made significant change in society, business, political, sport and culture and in the lives of the people of Botswana.
As part of the partnership, the media giants will tell the stories through the journey of the past 50 years, in the sights, sounds and people that Botswana has created since 1966. In addition, M&G Africa and Gabz-FM will host a Change Makers Summit and Gala Dinner, which will feature brilliant Batswana minds in diverse fields in the country. This is to celebrate 50 young Batswana Changer makers and recognize their contribution through courage, innovation and discipline.
Nominations have been from April 22nd and closing on June 30th 2016. The public can access the nomination form online, Gabz FM and M&G websites and on social media platforms. Printed nomination forms will also be available at Gabz FM offices at Fairgrounds close, Gaborone
