It goes without saying that our country just like any other in Africa, is not winning the battle of HIV and AIDS. There is so much awareness with regard to the disease, but people more-specially the youth get infected on a daily basis. Beauty queens always serve a purpose in the community, and former Miss Botswana Tapiwa, decided to take it upon herself to sensitize the youth on dangers of engaging in irresponsible sex.
She posted a short but powerful message that No condom No sex, which means we should not only worry about pregnancy, but about STI’s as well. She is a volunteer at Botswana Family Welfare Association (BOFWA). “I don’t know whether the youth in this city take HIV seriously, they just engage in things they have no idea about,” she said. Clearly as someone who works closely with BOFWA, she sees a lot of people in dire situations.
BOFWA is a nationally recognized leader in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) that ensures reproductive health including Family Planning as a human right to all individuals and families. It is led by volunteers as policy makers and management as program implementers.
