Nijel Amos Is Back!

He used to be the country’s golden boy and lately people have forgotten all about him and focused on the likes of Isaac Makwala and Baboloki Thebe but Nigel Amos has reclaimed his shine back.

The 800m runner scooped the first position finishing at a time of 1.44.50 at the Birmingham Diamond League meeting. Amos finished almost a second ahead of World 800m silver medallist Adam Kszczot of Poland.

Analysts have said prior to his race that Amos shows a tremendous improvement after battling with injuries adding that the athlete was a medal contender in London but was let down by his strategy, and that there was hope that Amos could contend to win 800m Diamond League final, and he is going to prove he was bound to win in London.

Weren’t they right, he has proven that he is still a champion.

Still at Birmingham, Isaac Makwala who competed in the 200m heat got position four finishing at 20.41.

They will be battling it out againg in Germany(Zurich) on the 24th of August where Makwala will be doing his usual 400m.
