Botswana netball ladies team left this morning for a tournament in Windhoek,Namibia. The national team that is made up of 30 players will go head to head with other teams from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Angola, Zambia and Namibia among other competitive countries. The national team is accompanied by BONA president and the events and publicity manager Theresa Hirschfield.
Earlier in the year the national team went on a selection team process that was meant to screen players for the African Championship. the screening process was facilitated by a renowned Malawian coach. BONA mouthpiece Hirschfield has revealed that the Namibian tournament is being used to facilitate the association with selecting the last 15 players that will go with the team to the African qualifiers in Zambia.
BONA concluded their league contest that was given a financial boost by the Spar group. The league saw men participating for the first time. Netball Botswana has in the past gained prestigious positions at various international events.
