MLWA Intends To Allocate 100 000 Plots By March
The Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands and Water Affairs (MLWA), Mr Kealeboga Kemoreile says the Ministry intends to reach the set target of allocating 100 000 plots country wide by March next year. He said this during the issuance of Secure Land Title to His Honour The Vice President Slumber Tsogwane yesterday in Rakops.
Mr Kemoreile said the ministry has registered 838 000(eight hundred and thirty thousand) plots country wide, and have a target to allocate 100,000 by end of March.
He revealed that, thirty three thousand (33 000) plots out of the one hundred thousand (100 000) target has already been allocated.
Mr Kemoreile said in their effort to reach the set target, the government has engaged the private sector to map the plots.
Furthermore he said (332 000) three hundred and thirty two thousand Batswana have already applied for the new secure land tittle adding that Landboards continue to receive Secure Land Title applications.
He urged Batswana to take action and visit landboards to register their land.
When describing the Secure Land Title Mr Kemoreile said it has significant security features which will make it difficult for people to fake.
