Miss Botswana Pageant Returns After Two Years
The Botswana Council of Women has announced the official launch of the Miss Botswana 2015 pageant. The competition has not been held for the past two years.
Speaking at a media conference in Gaborone yesterday, Miss Botswana Spokesperson Tshepo Maphanyane said this year’s pageant will empower contestants and relevant stakeholders through education, job creation and social and economic development.
Maphanyane dismissed chances of possible incidents where sponsors of main prizes pull out of the contest, something which has in the past befallen the pageant.
“I appreciate the concern raised but please don’t reign on my parade! I’m not going to outline and say these are the lawyers that have been engaged but what I can say is all the sponsors in this room today are fully committed” she said.
Auditions will kick off in Francistown on Saturday, followed by Gaborone on the 1st and 2nd August, while the queen will be crowned on September 29th.
