Miss Botswana Judges Meet With Pageant License Holder Amid The Crowning Controversy
It has just been a few days since the crowning of our 5oth Miss Botswana, and already, the guns are blazing. It began on the actual day of the crowning, when the queen Thata Kenosi gave a weak answer about youth unemployment. Most people were on her case about the lack of knowledge on socio-economic issues, and that she was favored over other girls.
One of the judges has acknowledged that the events over the past couple of days surrounding Miss Botswana have caused some concern with a lot of questions some fair and some unfair raised. “I’ve since requested for a meeting this morning with the pageant license holder to clarify these matters as it is in the interest of the nation, the other contestants the Queen and indeed my own, having participated in the selection of the queen, Lawrence Ookeditse said.
He then continued to cite that the pageant organizers will then issue out a press statement that answers to all matters raised; and depending on the statement they issue, he may also issue a statement for the record. “While I know many are anxious, I request that we wait for this meeting to clarify all these things, some of which I am not aware of myself. Kindly allow me to reply to your inboxes and tags after this 1030 AM meeting,” he concluded. Well the nation is waiting.
