MISA BOTSWANA URGED TO DELIVER TRUTHFUL AND ETHICAL INFORMATIOThe Acting President, His Honour Slumber Tsogwane has urged MISA Botswana to explore strategies for countering disinformation and misinformation and the impact they cause in the quest for freedom of expression as a driver for all other human rights.
His Honour further implored members of the forth estate to always be ethical in the execution of their duties. He said the expectation is that the media are an integral part of a democratic dispensation and they have a responsibility to disseminate information that is factual, accurate, objective and balanced.
Appreciating the Acting President’s presence for attending the event Mr Dikarabo Ramadubu implored him to embrace the media because their aim is not to destroy but protect the nation. He said The Acting President’s presence gives him hope as it shows that he will give consideration to deliberations.
Also in attendance was the Assistant Minister for State President Mr Dumizweni Mthimkhulu and heads of various parastatals and companies. The Commemoration was held under the theme “Shaping a future of rights: freedom of expression as a driver for all other human r6769hvights”.
