Minister of Environment and Tourism Hon. Philda Nani Kereng urges delegates to prioritise on value chain development

Minister of Environment and Tourism Hon. Philda Nani Kereng has implored participants at the just ended 2022 UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) high level segment panel discussions to identify comparative advantage for value chain development in order to expand trade and grow their economies, stating that value chain development in Botswana remains a key priority due to opportunities offered in economic diversification and employment. Kereng further stressed the need to strengthen policies and initiatives geared towards sustainable utilisation of natural resources with the aim of conserving them for future generations, as well as provide policies that are inclusive and empowers youth.
The discussions were held under the theme ‘looking ahead; acting today to secure a better future’ which shared lessons on the future actions on the global development agenda.
