Minister Mmusi Officiates at the Botswana prison service bus shelters handover

Yesterday, Honourable Mr. Thomas Kagiso Mmusi, Minister of Defence, Justice and Security handed over the bus shelters to the Community of Mahalapye. The donation of was made possible courtesy of the Initial Prison Officers Course Classes 1 and 2 of 2021 participants.

When officially handing over the shelters, Minister Mmusi applauded the Commissioner, her staff and the trainees for the noble gesture and encouraged them to continue with the good work of uplifting the lives of the fellow Batswana.
The project is part of the Prison Service Corporate Social Responsibility contributing to the ideals of the National Vision 2036 pillars on Human and Social Development and Environmental sustainability by giving back to the Mahalapye Sub District Community.

The Officers went an extra mile to use their diverse skills to do the actual construction of the shelters, a symbolic representation, coming from people who have made a noble choice of sacrificing their lives to rehabilitating others and also gives a testimony to their level of professionalism.
The shelters are meant to protect the communities of Mahalapye Sub District against adverse weather conditions that are aggravated by climate change and will be erected at the bus rank o
