Merck Foundation Visits Beneficiary Sites
Her Excellency Mrs Neo Jane Masisi The First Lady of the Republic of Botswana and Ambassador of “Merck Foundation More than a Mother” and Senator Dr. Rasha Kelej, CEO of Merck Foundation and President of “More than a Mother” Campaign toured the beneficiary sites of Merck Foundation today in Gaborone.
During the visit to Ithuteng Primary School and Tshwaragano Primary School, First Lady Mrs. Masisi mentioned that the main role of her office is to advocate for women’s empowerment and gender equality hence donating sewing machines to Old Naledi Village Development Committee and Ithuteng Primary School to help uplift the lives of women and students with special needs.
For his remarks, Mmoloki Phefo a former student at Ithuteng Primary School and also beneficiary said that he has gained sewing skills and appreciated the Office of the First Lady Mrs Neo Jane Masisi and the Merck Foundation for the machines.
When giving her appreciation remarks, Senator Dr Rasha Kelej, CEO of the Merck Foundation mentioned that it is important to build skills and keep learning as it creates employment.
