MARKETING AND ADVERTISING OFFICER
VACANCY NO: IRC 777, CAMPUS INDOOR SPORTS CENTRE – DEPARTMENT OF CULTURE, SPORTS AND RECREATION
Main purpose of the job
To develop and design various posters, fliers, brochures, advertisements, website, and other promotional materials to market and advertise the sports facilities and sports programs. The officer will assist in the execution of Departmental Marketing and Advertising strategic plan for Sports Facilities and Sports programs. Assist in Events coordination in the Campus Indoor Sports Centre.
Duties: The successful candidate will be responsible for (i) Designing coordinating, and producing campus recreation center print publications, facility signage, and web designs. (ii) Coordinating the development of design plans and timetables for projects/events. (iii) Assisting with developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote facilities, programs, services, and special events for the department. (iv) Aiding in the development of design standards for material produced by campus recreation. (v) Adhering to design standards and principles of the division of student affairs at the University of Botswana. (vi) Assisting in keeping production of all printed materials and projects on schedule. (vii) Assisting with inventory and ordering of equipment and supplies related to marketing and advertising and graphic design. (viii) Taking program and event photos as needed and assisting in the maintenance of Campus Indoor Sports Centre photo library. (ix) Assisting in the development of audio and video productions for Campus Indoor Sports Centre.
Requirements: Candidates should have at least a Diploma in Marketing and Publicity, Graphic design, marketing and advertising, visual communication major or equivalent. Candidates should have experience of 2 – 3 years in marketing, publicity and advertising. They should also have experience in the use of computer technology to develop brochures, website and other promotional materials.
