Local Jazz Muso John Selolwane Claims To Have Seen Hugh Masekela’s Death In A Dream

Veteran local musician John Selolwane has claimed to have seen Hugh Masekela in a dream.  He told MMegi newspaper that he saw the death in a dream and found out in the morning that it is true.

Selolwane worked with Masekela since they met in the 80’s through a mutual friend and Masekela eventually joined Kalahari band that composed of Banjo Mosele and many others.

Bra John continued to play for Masekela’s band.  He has featured in a number of Masekela’s albums and toured many countries with him.

Even though they bitterly parted ways in 2008, Selolwane said he would always remember Masekela as a good man who loved what he did.
