Limkokwing University aims to be Botswana’s fashion hub

Limkokwing University Botswana took for the first time a number of their own student designers to the London Fashion week. The local campus has since set their eyes on the bigger picture, they aspire to be the next fashion hub in the country. The fruits are starting to be evident and manifesting as more and more of their fashion graduates continuous dominate runways in most local fashion shows with their creations.

In the previous year Fashion students namely Thato Mminatau, Lorato Barwabatsile & Oganne Batsile scooped the top three positions of the President’s Day Celebrations Fashion Design Competition. At the last year’s London fashion week, Limkokwing Fashion club merchandise which comprised a mix and match of bold leather dominated style, accompanied by gold studs and luxurious tops, hand-bags and bold jewellery proved to be an instant hit with the entire audience. Zippers, hoods, youthful and edgy ready to wear designs ranging from unisex t-shirts, carry all bags, jackets, caps from the University’s fashion club also won the hearts of many.
