Liberian Assistant Minister of the Bureau in meeting with Ministry of Education

Liberian Assistant Minister of the Bureau of Student Personnel Services, in the Ministry of Education, Honourable Tarnue Marwolo Bongolee and his delegation yesterday (4th October 2022) paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Minister of Education and Skills Development Dr Douglas Letsholathebe.

When welcoming the delegation Minister Letsholathebe said such visits are important as they strengthen relations which will be of benefit to the two countries as well as to their people. He emphasized on the need for Botswana and Liberia to build resilient bilateral relations as both countries are grounded in shared commitment towards combating illiteracy rate.

On the other hand Hon. Tarnue Marwolo Bongolee expressed gratitude to Botswana for the continued support given to Liberia which has been on a path of reconstructing its education system. He highlighted that the Liberian students who received scholarships from Botswana have graduated and are making an impact in their economy. For her part the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Skills Development Mrs Mariam Maroba advised their counterpart to explore and consider the strategies that Botswana undertook to eradicate illiteracy rate.
