The two rappers may be close to a truce after Kanye attempted to arrange a get-together with former mentor Jay almost a year after his explosive rants about his ‘killers’.
KANYE West is attempting to bring an end to his infernal feud with former mentor Jay-Z, according to reports.
The US rappers are not on speaking terms due to a simmering row, and Kanye made things that much worse last autumn via on stage rants about Jay wanting to have him killed.
And on Jay-Z’s new album 4:44 several disses to “insane” Kanye were made, including hints that a great deal of unpaid debt exists on West’s side.
Then, apparently in response, Kanye pulled all his music from Jay’s streaming platform Tidal.
But now TMZ claims Kanye has asked for a “face to face” talk with Jay to iron out their beef.
That beef remains mysterious – though various rumours claim they’re divided over music rights on Tidal, the fact that Jay disliked Kanye’s comments about wife Beyonce and daughter Blue Ivy, and that Beyonce does not get on with Kim Kardashian, West’s wife.
However the gossip site claims their row is “not about money” but about their “relationship”, which began 17 years ago when Kanye became a producer for Jay’s label.
Seeing as Kanye and Jay used to be thick as thieves, and have had huge hits together like N***** In Paris and Monster, it seems they are making steps towards reconciling even if temporarily
