The Jwaneng Netball Extravaganza 2025 concluded yesterday, delivering an exciting display of netball talent over a highly competitive two-day tournament. The event saw fierce battles on the court as teams vied for top honors in both the women’s and men’s categories.

In the ladies’ category, Jwaneng Netball Club dominated the final with a commanding 37-20 victory over Police, securing the prestigious championship title along with the P10,000 first-place prize. Their impressive performance demonstrated skill, teamwork, and determination, making them deserving winners of the tournament.

The men’s category saw an intense and closely contested final, with Police edging out the army team BDF Cats in a nail-biting 37-36 match. Their hard-fought victory earned them the championship title and the P10,000 prize. Meanwhile, both runner-up teams—Police in the women’s category and BDF Cats in the men’s category—received P7,500 for their outstanding efforts.

A total of 14 teams participated in the tournament, with eight competing in the women’s category and six in the men’s category. Among the teams in action were Jwaneng, BDF Cats, Notwane, UB Crystals, Thamaga Jaspers, Nico United, Vipers, Prisons, and Mvusuludzo Netball Academy. The matches were filled with high energy, determination, and displays of exceptional netball talent.

The tournament not only showcased Botswana’s thriving netball scene but also reinforced the sport’s growing influence in the region. Players, coaches, and supporters celebrated the event’s success, with organizers expressing optimism about future editions.
