Botswana Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS (BONEPWA) is a national umbrella non-governmental organization (NGO) and network formed in 2000 by and for People Living with HIV and AIDS (PLHIVs) in Botswana and has been working with PLHIVs to improve their lives by empowering them with skills, strategies and knowledge to cater for their social, economic and health needs.
RECRUITMENT: SENIOR COMMUNITY TREATMENT SUPPORTERS
BONEPWA is soliciting applications for 33 positions of Senior Community Treatment Supporters (SCTS) for a period of 1 year from communities around 7 Districts with the following qualifications and experience:
1. Certificate in Social Work, Health education, HIV/AIDS Management and Care, Community Health Education, Public Health or related courses.
2. Computer Literate in Microsoft word, Excel and have capacity to generate monthly data and Narrative reports.
3. Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively in English and Setswana, both written and verbally.
4. Passion for working for your community.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills.
6. Experience in establishing and maintaining good relationships with a wide variety of professionals and organizations.
7. Commitment to ethical standards, ability to maintain confidentiality and work related standards.
8. Resourceful in facilitation skills and able to solve social problems.
9. Experience in working in community related projects especially in HIV and AIDS in Botswana will be an added advantage.
10. PLHIV with the above qualifications and experience are encouraged to apply.
11. This will be a performance based contract dependent on the ability to manage a large caseload of PLHIV and enroll enough new clients each month to meet monthly targets
12. People living with HIV who are willing to disclose their status as they discuss HIV issues with patients they will be supporting are encouraged to apply.
