Irish Radio International Celebrates Our Golden Jubilee With Botswana Music
The world has caught the cold that Botswana is celebrating 50 year independence. Irish Radio International yesterday celebrated Botswana’s 50 years of independence in Sounds and Places with an exhilarating 2 hours of our local artists lineup.
The show indeed put Botswana on the map, with Motswana Resego Morakanyane and loads of Botswana music. Listeners were mesmerized with the sounds of music from artists like Sereetsi and the natives, Nnunu, Shanti-Lo and the KTM choir.
Sounds and Places is a weekly World Music program on Irish Radio International, presented by Roos Demol. The show takes listeners around the world to explore the sounds from all corners of the world. For those of you who couldn’t listen to the Botswana Special, here is the podcast. Enjoy!
