Incentives for Team Botswana’s Paris 2024 Olympic Success

In recognition of Team Botswana’s remarkable performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics, various contributions and incentives have been pledged to celebrate their achievements. His Excellency Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, President of Botswana, and Her Excellency Mrs. Neo Jane Masisi, the First Lady, have generously pledged P25,000. His Honour Mr. Slumber Tsogwane, Vice President of Botswana, has added P10,000 to this amount, alongside the P63,000 contributed by Members of Parliament. These funds are meant to honor and appreciate the exceptional efforts of Botswana’s athletes on the global stage.

Choppies Incentive Package: P2,450,000

  1. Letsile Tebogo: The standout athlete, who secured a gold medal, will receive P1 million. Additionally, Tebogo will be awarded P50,000 for his finals appearances in the 100m and 200m events, along with a P5,000 shopping voucher.
  2. Coaches:
  • Coach Justice Dipeba and Head Coach Ntshwarang Chilume will each receive P50,000 and a P1,500 shopping voucher valid for one year.
  • Coach Kebonyemodisa Mosimanyane will be awarded P200,000 and a P2,500 shopping voucher for one year.
  1. Tshepiso Masalela: For qualifying in the 800m, Masalela will receive P50,000 and a P2,500 shopping voucher valid for one year.
  2. Relay Team Members: All seven members of the relay team will be honored with P150,000 each and a P2,500 shopping voucher for a year.

Additional Contributions

  • Debswana, De Beers Group, and DTCB: Collectively donated P1,080,000 to Team Botswana.
  • Botswana Defence Force: Contributed P575,000.
  • Orange Botswana: Pledged P700,000.

These incentives reflect the nation’s appreciation for the dedication and excellence demonstrated by Team Botswana at the Paris 2024 Olympics, celebrating their success and encouraging future achievements.
