This year’s Miss Botswana pageant is by far the most controversial one ever. It will be an understatement to note that the young lady Thata Kenosi who was crowned last week Friday is yet to have a happy reign. Among the things that the country at large is not happy about is the allegations that Thata Kenosi has visible tattoos, which are not allowed even at the world stage.
Yesterday the Queen was interviewed by Reginald Richardson, on The Point program and she denied having any form of tattoos on her body. Two pictures have been circulating on social media of Thata with a tattoo at the back of her neck, and one below her rib. On the show yesterday, she said the lady on the picture with the tattoo at the back of her neck, is not her, and the one where she is facing the photographer, its her but the tattoo on her rib is a flash tattoo.
Lorraine Ditsebe who was one of the contestants who made it to Top 12, attest that she and other contestants saw the tattoos with their naked eyes. She also cites that the Queen was given an upper hand in the sense that her mother came to visit her, which is clearly not allowed. All that Lorraine and a good number of Batswana is clarity.
