Heroes Mentors Inspires Goodhope Senior School Students

GOODHOPE; The Heroes Mentorship Program today (07/10/2022) visited Goodhope Senior Secondary School to inspire young and upcoming athletes towards their sports and academic careers. Goodhope Senior Secondary School is one of the Centre of Sports Excellence (CSC). When delivering the welcome remarks, the Deputy School head Mr Sandy Mphuting thanked the Heroes for taking their time to inspire the students and further emphasised the importance of sports in students. Whereas, the Heroes Mentors reiterated the significance of finding a balance between academics and sports. They also advised the students to desist from illegal substances that may end their athletics careers.

Also in attendance were Mr Mosupakwena Ross-Goodhope School, Students, the BNSC Program officer Mr. Thuto Molebatsi and the Heroes; Bonang Otlhagile-Football, Tracy Chaba-Disang-Volleyball, Shameela Mosweu-Cricket, Galefele Moroko-Athletics, Loungo Matlhako-Athletics, Kefalotse Kehalakae-Rugby, Theo Dipholo-Basketball, Madonna Malikonngwa-Netball. The event concluded with groups’ breakaway sessions in which the students had an opportunity to get a close-up with the Heroes.

The Heroes Mentorship Program is a project at the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) mainly aimed at capacity building of coaches and elite athletes in various National Sport Associations to mentor through sport substructure.
