GOVERNMENT TO TAKE ROBUST PREVENTATIVE STRATEGY

“Covid-19 is a reality in Botswana already. We started preparing for this onslaught in January as a government, fully expecting that there will come when we talk of life cases in Botswana. As of a few days ago, we had a first documentation of a localised transmission. Therefore among the choices we have, given our level of development and what distraction we see covid-19 causing, would be how do we best respond to it given our frail and limited limitations. So we have taken a position as government to take a robust preventative strategy as a response and best defense.”
